North Austin Apartments

North Austin is a great place to have your new Austin apartment for a number of reasons. For one it is convenient to such major employers as MCI and 3M. You also have convenient access to I-35 and Mopac. You are pretty much a straight shot into downtown, Hyde Park, etc. as well. Nearby shopping is located off of Parmer lane, as well as lots of restaurants like, Sam’s Boat, Threadgills, Taco Cabana, Red Lobster, Sea Dragon, etc. along highway 183.

If you are interested in live music in North Austin, Sam’s Boat, located off of Parmer and Mopac often have bands playing as well as a huge outdoor patio to enjoy the beautiful Austin weather. Are you looking for a home cooked meal? Give Threadgills a try! Conveniently located near some very affordable North Austin apartments, you can get a great home cooked meal here. Threadgill’s offers some local Austin Beers such as Live Oak. I would recommend getting the ham; it comes with a very unique pineapple horseradish sauce that is just awesome!

The metric area is located in North Austin, home to ACC Northridge. The Northridge Campus is one of six Austin Community College campuses serving residents of Austin and surrounding communities. This area is extremely convenient if you are going to attend ACC. The Northridge campus is located right off of Metric in the heart of North Austin. Many quality B apartments are located along this stretch of road near campus. When I say B property I mean a property that was built in the 80s, usually has W/D connections, small fitness facility, pool, not gated, etc. Some really nice A+ properties are located in this area as well. “A” properties are as good as it gets, and are frequently only a few years old. They usually have big oval garden tubs, crown molding, are gated, fitness center, pool, full sized W/D connections, open floor plans that let in a lot of light, etc!

Perhaps a less known attraction of North Austin is the Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park! Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park is located in far north Austin, a little to the west of IH-35. The east park entrance is on Lamar Blvd., north of Braker Lane. The north entrance is from Willow Wild Drive, a neighborhood side street that connects with Parmer Lane.

People who are attending ACC or work at some of the major employers in North Austin find this area extremely convenient. Though there isn’t as much of a nightlife as downtown 6th street can offer, there are still plenty of places to go out and have a good time, plus downtown Austin isn’t very far away if you chose to have a night on the town! Not to mention with all the amenities North Austin provides, and some great North Austin apartments located conveniently near the major highways, you can see how you might want to have your next apartment home located in North Austin.
